The St Mary police are probing the discovery of a woman whose body was found wrapped in a blue tarpaulin in Devon Pen in the parish on Sunday afternoon.
Initial reports are that residents found the tarpaulin in a precipice at about 5pm. It was subsequently retrieved and taken to the main road, where it was unwrapped and the woman’s body was discovered.
Traces of blood were also noticed coming from a piece of cloth that apparently covered the unidentified woman’s face.
The police were subsequently alerted of the discovery.
A video has subsequently gone viral of residents making the gruesome discovery.
