A woman was fatally stabbed by another during what police described as a “domestic situation” in Runaway Bay, St Ann on Wednesday.

The deceased is 23-year-old Letica Hall, an office attendant of Red Bank district, in St Elizabeth.

A female, who is suspected to have inflicted the stab wounds, is on the run.

Sources told Jam Street Journal that the two women were reportedly engaged in a long-standing brawl over a man.

Police reports are that on Wednesday, about 10:10 pm, Hall and the woman had an altercation. She then left the vicinity and proceeded to enter a vehicle.

The other woman allegedly throw a stone in the vehicle, resulting in the driver stopping the unit and disembarking along with Hall.

The woman then engaged in another altercation with Hall, during which the latter was stabbed multiple times.

Hall was assisted to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Deputy Superintendent in charge of Operations for St Ann, Kevin Francis, described the incident as a “domestic situation which escalated” and led to the death of Hall.

He said the police are following several leads at this time to locate the suspect.
