A man was fatally shot and approximately five guns were seized by members of the security forces during an operation in sections of Portmore, St Catherine on Thursday morning.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force is yet to provide additional details, as the joint police/military team are conducting searches on Dyke Road in Portmore.
There is also a high security presence in the Gregory Park area of Portmore, where an ongoing gang feud led to several shootings and arson attacks between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
A curfew, which was first imposed on Tuesday night in Gregory Park, remains in effect until 6:00 pm on Thursday.
