The man who was atop the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre has disembarked safely from the structure and was escorted away by the police.
He is said to be a former firefighter, and visited the headquarters of the Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB) on Monday before the unfortunate incident.
The man had threatened to take his own life, but after discussions with a firefighter, as well his father who also climbed the structure, he climbed down.
Crowds cheered on the ex-fireman as he was taken away from the scene by the police.
A JFB official confirmed that the man resigned as a firefighter last year.
