A two-vehicle crash on the Winston Jones Highway near Mandeville on Tuesday night resulted in the deaths of three men.

They are: 43-year-old Wayne Morris, a hospital porter of Cheapside district, Manchester; Darnley Clarke, 25, a resident of Spalding, Clarendon; and Fabian Uter, a chef of Christiana, Manchester.

A police report said about 8:45 pm, two taxis — a Toyota Wish and Toyota Probox – were traveling downhill on the highway when they collided.

The impact of the crash resulted in the Toyota Wish overturning, which led to  several occupants being flung from the vehicle.

The injured people were rushed to hospital, where two people were pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

A third person succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Some 11 persons remain admitted in hospital.
