The St Thomas police have launched a probe into the discovery of two bodies in Twelve Miles, St Thomas on Thursday afternoon.
The bodies are believed to be that of a man and a woman, who were intimately involved.
It is being theorised that they were shot and killed by an unknown assailant(s), as several bullet casings were found near the bodies.
Contrary to other reports in the media, police sources told Jam Street Journal that they are having difficulties in accurately identifying the couple, as they went by several aliases and names.
Preliminary reports suggested that passersby stumbled upon the bodies in the vicinity of the Three Finger Jack Monument shortly before 4:00 pm.
The bodies were removed to the morgue. A post mortem is to be conducted at a later date.
The couple were living in a shack near the Three Finger Monument Jack Monument for several years, claiming that the land belonged to them.
