St Andrew North Police Division rocked by two murders

Two men are dead following two separate shooting incidents in the St Andrew North Police Division on Thursday morning.

In one of the incidents, lawmen reported that a 65-year-old taxi operator was shot and killed by unknown assailants along Whitehall Avenue at about 5:30 am.

He has since been identified as Neil Newsome.

Newsome’s body was found in his white Toyota Probox. 

The second incident occurred shortly before 7:00 am in the neighbouring Cassava Piece community.

A man, identified as Barry Foster, was shot and killed by gunmen.

Since the start of the year up to October 18, the St Andrew North Police Division has recorded 46 murders.
