“People need to leave Spice alone.”
That’s the word from a member of the entertainment fraternity who dismissed rumours circulating that the Queen of Dancehall suffered a health-related complication following a cosmetic procedure in Dominican Republic.
“People are just cold, cruel and will do anything to gain followers and money from spreading rumours,” said the source, who claimed he had knowledge of the situation but asked that his identity be withheld.
“So all I am saying is that based on my checks, Spice is not in a coma nor has she had any heart attack as people are alleging. Please leave Spice name alone out unuh mix-up,” the entertainment personality told Jam Street Journal late Wednesday.
Spice, 40, had indicated in early October that she would be taking a break from social media.
She also wished her fans an early Merry Christmas, a clear indication of her intent to leave the social media sphere for several months.
Adding fuel to the rumours that Spice was suffering from some medical complication was former Queen of Dancehall and now Gospel singer, Marion Hall.
“God of Glory, I place Grace Hamilton at your feet,” Hall said as she prayed on social media on Wednesday.
Spice, who is famous for such singles as So Mi Like It, has been at odds with Hall for some time.
US entertainment media site, The Shade Room, has since reported that Spice’s booking agent has confirmed that the artiste is not in a coma or has never been.
