SOEs BACK AGAIN! St James, Clarendon under organised crime threat
Prime Minister Andrew Holness

States of Public Emergency (SOEs) have been declared in the parishes of Clarendon and St James for an initial 14 days.

The measure commenced at midnight on March 14, a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) said on Tuesday.

“Organised gangs remain a threat in these parishes,” Prime Minister Andrew Holness said in relation to the freshly declared SOEs.

The Opposition People’s National Party (PNP) has failed to support the extension of SOEs, citing constitutional breaches, among other issues.

See full statement below on the SOEs for the two parishes.
