Shericka Jackson is second fastest alive in 200-metres

Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson has broken Dafne Schippers 21.63s championship record to win the Women’s 200-metres Gold at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.

Jackson clocked a National Record of 21.45s, making her the second fastest woman in history over 200 metres and the fastest woman alive over the distance. 

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce claimed silver in 21.81s. Britain’s Dina Asher Smith placed third in 22.02s.

Olympic Champion, Elaine Thompson-Herah, finished seventh in 22.39s.

Jackson’s time revised to 21.45s. She has overtaken Thompson-Herah as the fastest woman alive over 200 metres.
