The St Ann Development Company Limited (SADCo) is looking to implement strategies to better market attractions in the parish that are managed by the entity, to improve their competitiveness and maximise earnings.

Among the strategies is the introduction of new products and services to enhance the guest experience at Dunn’s River Falls and Park, including a food and beverage night as well as all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and bike experiences.

These efforts are anticipated to be strengthened through the implementation of a robust training programme, employment of competent staff and the continued recovery of the tourism industry.

The details are contained in the Jamaica Public Bodies Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the Year ending March 2025.

Other activities to be explored are the review and amendment of the Event Management Standard Operating Procedures to facilitate cohesiveness with the Urban Development Corporation (UDC).

Incorporated in 1967, SADCo is a wholly owned subsidiary of the UDC with the primary responsibility of managing the operations and properties owned by the Corporation in St Ann.

In addition to Dunn’s River Falls and Park, the other attractions are Green Grotto Caves, Turtle River Park, Pearly Beach, Ocho Rios Bay Beach, Roaring River, Laughing Waters, the craft markets and undeveloped lands in surrounding communities.

SADCo anticipates a net profit of $41.82 million for the fiscal year 2023/24, compared to $8.55 million for 2022/23.

The company also plans to maintain a workforce of 283 employees.
