Despite the cut-off for payroll preparation for public sector workers ending, one police group is calling on the Finance Ministry to find a way to pay them their salaries under the new compensation review.
The call was made by Chairman of the Police Officer’s Association (POA), Senior Superintendent Wayne Cameron, at the Jamaica Police Federation anniversary church service held at the Portmore Seventh Day Adventist Church on Saturday.
The police are among groups yet to sign off on the new packages.
Cameron told Finance Ministry Dr Nigel Clarke that issues with the revised offer received by his police group on Friday must be corrected before an agreement can be reached between the parties.
It was a similar plea being made by Chairman of the Police Federation, Corporal Rohan James for further dialogue to take place, and an appropriate wage agreement inked among the parties.
Clarke was among dignitaries at the church service.
