The National Commercial Bank (NCB) is among several banking institutions which have advised their customers to expect significant delays on Monday in accessing its cash related services arising from Sunday’s daring armed robbery in Portmore, St Catherine.
NCB says it has been advised that Beryllium Limited is currently assessing its operations islandwide, which may result in delays in the delivery of services.
The bank said this may in turn affect its automated banking machines (ABMs), drop box and cash pick up services.
NCB is also advising customers to expect delays when conducting in branch transactions.
The bank says its customers may still access services using its mobile platforms, to conduct cash deposits and other functions.
Meanwhile, Scotiabank Jamaica has advised that its Portmore Pines location, which was the scene of yesterday’s heist, will be closed to the public today.
In the meantime, Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB) Group Jamaica advised that as a result of the armed robbery of Beryllium security guards on Sunday, customers may have difficulties accessing cash at its ATMs.
“As a result of yesterday’s unfortunate incident, we regret to report that cash accessibility at some of our ATM locations has been affected,” JMMB tweeted on Monday.
The JMMB ATM locations to be affected are: Portmore, Liguanea, Fairview, Haughton, Mandeville, and Ocho Rios.
JMMB is reminding its customers that they can use its moneyline at moneyline.jmmb.com to conduct transactions online.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause as we work diligently to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” JMMB stated.
