A man who attempted to abduct a woman was shot and killed during a confrontation with the police in May Day, Manchester on Monday night.
The identity of the deceased has not been released.
Reports are that sometime on Monday night, the car with the three kidnappers was intercepted by lawmen in May Day.
The three men opened gunfire at the officers who returned fire. Two of the kidnappers escaped, but one was found suffering from bullet wounds.
The woman was not harmed during the shooting, and she was rescued by the police.
A firearm was also retrieved from the scene by the police.
