She left from St Elizabeth to work as a bartender to support herself financially, but 26-year-old Rochelle Glaze was murdered in Runaway Bay, St Ann in circumstances that are not clear.

A man has been detained and is expected to charged with her murder, as investigators say the man was caught on surveillance footage leaving a bar with Glaze.

The young woman is originally from Burnt Ground in the parish.

On Saturday, May 21, Glaze was seen at a bar in Runaway Bay. She was in the company of the man before they left together.

That was the last time Glaze was seen.

Days passed without any information from Glaze, and family members in St Elizabeth contacted the police to report her missing.

The police began conducting their checks and were lead to the man’s home, where he was arrested and questioned.

The local police then intensified their probe after they received intelligence that the man was seen leaving his home with Glaze last week. They were walking on a dirt track that led to an abandoned house.

Last Friday, the police conducted a search of the area and stumbled upon a shallow grave where a woman’s body was detected partially buried.

The police are now awaiting a post mortem to determine how Glaze was murdered.
