The 29-year-old man accused of allegedly sexually assaulting his five-year-old sister and his two-year-old niece in Westmoreland, has been detained.
The accused man was held by the police during an operation in the Withorn police district in Westmoreland on Tuesday night.
The man is to be questioned by investigators from the Centre of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA).
One of the children – the five-year-old girl – remains hospitalised for treatment from the ordeal.
On the weekend, a video emerged on social media of the mother of the five-year-old girl detailing the traumatic experience her daughter faced.
According to the distressed woman, the incident occurred last Wednesday.
“Water gone three day and mi get up five o’clock inna the morning a wash. When mi look in her pants mi see slime,” the woman recounted.
She said her daughter later told her that her brother had touched her.
The woman told social media users that when she confronted her son, he denied the allegations.
The incident was, however, reported to CISOCA, the mother said, adding that the child allegedly had an infection arising from the sexual assault.
