A Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) was shot and killed while reportedly moonlighting as a taxi driver in Papine, St Andrew on Wednesday night.
He has been identified as 46-year-old Dane Simon of Spanish Town, St Catherine.
Police believe Simon was killed as he transported passengers.
His body was found in a white Toyota Probox motor car along Rocky Road, behind the University of Technology (UTECH), just before 10pm.
Simon was found with a bullet wound in the back of his head.
Senior police investigators are gathering evidential material at this time, to locate the suspect(s) behind the killing.
