The police are alerting citizens to an emerging trend where robbers target persons making large cash transactions at commercial banks in town centres.
The disclosure was made by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) on its social media platforms on Monday.
“While arrests have been made, investigators believe that syndicates continue to operate and are warning persons to be extremely vigilant,” the JCF said.
“Motorcycles make it easy for criminals to escape after committing a robbery. So be on the lookout for them; especially when you come to a complete stop at a spotlight, road junction or stop bar,” advised the police force.
Several persons, in recent times, have expressed their own experiences after being targeted by robbers on motorcycles.
Gunmen have also utilised motorcycles in carrying out murders across the country, especially on busy thoroughfares and within town centres.
