Jamaica is now in the fifth wave of COVID-19.

Dr Christopher Tufton, Minister of Health and Wellness, made the disclosure this morning at a press briefing.

He says the wave is likely caused by the Omicron sub variant BA. 2.

The minister is appealing to Jamaicans to remain calm and protect themselves from the virus.
