The police have confirmed that a dispute between two adult cousins resulted in the murder of a two-year-old boy in Mack Hill District, Clark’s Town in Trelawny on Sunday night.

The deceased is Adrian Jerome Campbell of Mack Hill District.

Reports are that about 8pm, a man was sitting in his Honda motor car with his stepson when his cousin fired into the vehicle.

The shot missed the man and hit the child.

The man immediately drove off the vehicle, and rushed little Adrian to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The accused cousin was arrested by the police as he tried to flea the parish.

Adrian’s stepfather, Ricardo Brown, speaking to reporters, said his 20-year-old cousin had slapped his baby mother during a dispute last week.

Brown said he intervened and hit his cousin, but the latter vowed to take revenge.

That’s when the 20-year-old allegedly acquired a firearm and fired into the vehicle to shoot Brown on Sunday.

Brown, however, was not injured during the attack.
