Dancehall musician Aidonia and his wife Kimberly Megan’s nine-year-old son has died, plunging the dancehall fraternity into grief.

King Khalif Lawrence passed away on Saturday after a long battle with cancer, reports have indicated.

Aidonia, whose real name is Sheldon Lawrence, was very close to his son who was the centre of his world.

Earlier this year, Aidonia had his son and his wife’s names tattooed on his chest near his heart. The names ‘Kim’ and ‘Khalif’ were adorned with crowns on his left breast.

Many dancehall entertainers have expressed their condolences to the artiste and his wife.

Dancehall Queen Spice, in posting several photographs of Aidonia and his family, said she was “broken hearted” by the news of Khalif’s death.

“I’m loss for words. My condolences,” she wrote Sunday on Instagram.

She told her fans to “keep” Aidonia and his wife in their prayers.

“Pray for their strength because there’s nothing that will ever heal this pain. #SoSad,” she wrote.

On Twitter, Shenseea shared her condolences on Saturday after news of Khalif’s death broke.

“My heart is breaking for u Aidonia and Kim omg,” she wrote.

“This hit different, prayers for my brother @aidonia4thgenna,I can only imagine the pain #jahjahm,” Wasp wrote, alongside a photo of Aidonia and Khalif.

Producer Skatta Burrel wrote on his Instagram Story:

“How do you process gaining everything you dreamt and worked tirelessly for and then in one sweep, you lose the most important person, fashioned in your image? Sheldon your loss is our loss! You’re forever fam and the pain you feel, I can’t even image how immensely devastated you must be.”

Aidonia is known for songs such as Pon Di C-cky, Pretty Please,U Know Di Vibe, Nuh Boring Gyal, Jook So, and Yeah Yeah.
