Controversial X-Factor UK winner, Dalton Harris has disclosed that he is the father of a daughter.
He made the announcement in a lengthy Instagram post on Sunday.
“I am trying to focus on being a great father to my daughter, a supportive friend/brother/son and building a better relationship with myself,” Harris said.
The 28-year-old singer, who has been dabbling in boardway, said the past few months “have been the most poignant of my life.”
Said Harris: “I have grown so much since then and changed as well, during that time. It’s never this easy to notice the difference in yourself but I do.”
The singer made the post from the Canary Islands near Spain.
Harris, who came out as pansexual in October 2020, has been less active on social media since the start of the year.
He said that he took time away from the platform to be more present and to show up for himself and those in his life presently.
“I have never been one to put on a facade, but I also am learning how and what to share whilst being transparent enough for my core supporters,” he shared.
Harris also confirmed in his Instagram post that he was now an independent artist, and he dismissed suggestions that he had been dropped by “a label”.
To critics who have bashed him for releasing no new musical material for soem time, the ‘Cry’ singer wrote: “I will not release music to cause momentum or popularity.
“And no, I was not dropped so please do not turn this into something it isn’t you beautiful YouTube blog folks.”
