The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is advising taxi operators and passengers who have been intimidated or harassed during Monday’s public transport strike to report it to them.

Taxi and bus operators, mainly in Kingston, St Andrew and St Catherine, are protesting for a traffic ticket amnesty.

“Several videos and voice notes have been circulating on social media, suggesting persons are being impeded from entering vehicles, and forcibly removed from vehicles. This is unlawful,” the police tweeted Monday.

A man who was seen demanding motorists to exit a vehicle in this morning’s protest, was arrested shortly after the incident.

The police are urging persons to message the police on the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch Tip Line at (876) 591-5671 or send a direct message via Twitter.
