Constable Noel Maitland has been arrested as a suspect in the disappearance of social media influencer, 24-year-old Donna-lee Donaldson.
He has been arrested by CTOC investigators in the vicinity of his attorney’s offices in Kingston.
The officer was arrested following what has been described “as a marathon case review session with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Paula Llwelleyn, last night (Tuesday),” Nationwide News is reporting.
The news entity said that the DPP and her senior prosecutors advised police investigators that there is now enough evidence to commence the process which will lead to formal charges being laid against Maitland.
Meanwhile, the police are said to be continuing investigations into the matter, as Donaldson’s is feared dead, but her body has yet to be found.
She was reportedly last seen two weeks ago at Maitland’s Chelsea Avenue apartment.
Police investigations into the matter have intensified, as have a series of protests by Donaldson’s friends and relatives.
Maitland was recently taken off front line police duty following a directive by the Police High Command. He is attached to the Constant Spring Police station in the St. Andrew North Police Division.
Donaldson’s babymother, a district constable, has also been removed from front line duty, but the police said there is no evidence linking her to the disappearance of Donaldson.
