Kemar Nelson

A police constable died as a result of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle crash along the Morant Bay main road in St Thomas on Saturday night.

Dead is Kemar Nelson, who was assigned to the Specialied Operations Branch.

It is alleged that the cop was driving a Toyota Probox motor car from Morant Bay towards Seaforth when, while in the process of overtaking, he lost control of the car and crashed into a wall.

Reports also suggest that three other occupants of the car were also injured during the crash which occurred about 9:45 pm.

The police are investigating.

The Jamaica Police Federation has expressed condolences to Nelson’s family.

“We are heartbroken and saddened. Sincere Condolences to his family, colleagues and friends,” said a statement on Sunday from the federation.
