Chief Justice Bryan Sykes has tested positive for COVID-19, further setting back the trial of alleged members of the One Don/Clansman gang.

The Court Administration Division confirmed the development in a media release on Wednesday morning.

“The Chief Justuce is experiencing mild symptoms and is under the care of his doctors,” the statement said, adding that he will go into isolation for seven days.

The Court Administration Division says it is hoped that after this week long isolation, the Chief Justice will return to work at the Supreme Court.

The Chief Justice had been scheduled to resume presiding over the One Don/Clansman gang trial at 10:00 am Wednesday morning.
