Entertainment personality Candy Wow has found love again with her music engineer, Norvell ‘Vybz Dann’ Aiken, just weeks after announcing her split from her fiancé Randy Coombs.
Candy Wow, whose real name is Kerisha Brandon, revealed to THE STAR newspaper that she had been seeking a change from her previous life in the ghetto and had been praying for a new start. She explained that she was led to Papine, St Andrew, where she met Vybz Dann, and the two quickly hit it off.
“Mi ask God to take mi out of the ghetto,” she told THE STAR. “About three weeks ago, mi deh inna Half-Way Tree and Vybz Dann just appear, said, ‘Candy Wow, put yuh number inna mi phone’, and I did.”
Despite recently declaring she was “done with men,” Candy Wow attributed her change of heart to divine intervention. She has even returned to the recording studio and is set to release a new song, “Never Real,” a collaboration with DC Stubborn.
Vybz Dann, also a recording artiste, admitted that he initially anticipated a business relationship with Candy Wow but was surprised by the rapid development of their romance.
He dismissed claims that he is with her for clout, saying, “Mi serious as a judge about her… Mi see say Candy did want love, and mi, at the time, did kinda need it; but mi never did a look for it because mi did focus pon mi career.”
The couple seems smitten, with Candy Wow declaring, “Mi love him fi who him is, and as long as him give mi him love, mi good.”
Vybz Dann echoed her sentiments, saying, “Mi and Candy know what we know… A God work.”
