The body of second of two girls swept away by floodwaters in Jobs Hill, St Mary on Thursday has been recovered.
Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Romeo Henry of the St Mary police infomed that the body of 14-year-old Hallekaye Smickle was found about 10:00 am Saturday.
Her body was found along a river bank in the rural community of Top Leinster in the parish.
The 10-year-old girl’s body was located on Friday shortly after 10:00 am.
Earlier reports had identified the girls as sisters, however, it is now believed that they are aunt and niece.
According to a family member, the girls, aged 10 and 14, were at a river washing when the incident occurred.
