During parallel police operations in St Andrew and St James early on Wednesday, five people who are said to be key figures in the international drug trade were detained.
According to a tweet from the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA), five persons are now in custody.
MOCA, along with the Narcotics Police, US Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Marhsals and the Financial Investigations Division (FID) are among the agencies involved in the operations.
MOCA uploaded a video of several soldiers and police scaling an apartment wall as part of the operations.
In a tweet, MOCA said two of the major players in the narco-trafficking trade are wanted for extradition to the United States.
Jam Street Journal further understands that one of the four suspects was apprehended at the gated apartment complex, The Avery, located on Charlemont Avenue in St Andrew.
At least four of the vehicles were seized there.
This is a developing story.
