American media personality Wendy Williams appeared online tabloid TMZ Live this week where she revealed that she will be embarking on a new leg of her career by becoming a podcaster.
She used the interview to also speak about her ongoing medical issues.
After 13 successful years, The Wendy Williams Show aired its final episode on June 17.
“When you’re famous, podcasts will make more money for me, being famous, than doing The Wendy Williams Show,” she told TMZ.
She said she will now focus her attention on producing her own podcast and is looking into launching a follow-up sneaker line for the Home Shopping Channel (HSN).
Williams also made it clear that she is fully retired from her hit daytime show, The Wendy Williams Show, but she is open to returning as a guest host on other programmes, including The View.
In reflecting on her medical issues, the media mogul shared that she continues to battle lymphoedema – a chronic condition that causes swelling in the body’s tissues.
She added that she has lost 95 percent of the feeling in her feet, which sometimes leaves her wheelchair-bound.
