‘Kill Quick’ charged with $22-million robbery of armoured truck in Kingston

Lawmen assigned to the Rollington Town Police arrested and charged a man after a multi-million dollar robbery in Rollington Town in Kingston earlier this month.

Charged with Robbery with Aggravation, Conspiracy to Robbery with Aggravation, Illegal Possession of Firearm and Receiving Stolen Property is 37-year-old Omeal Richards, otherwise called ‘Kill Quick’, of Bray Street in Kingston 16.

Reports are that at about 12:10 p.m., on Wednesday, June 8, employees of a security company were escorting money when their vehicle developed mechanical problems along Jackson Road in the parish. 

While fixing the vehicle, a motor car stopped beside them, Richards and another man armed with firearms alighted from the vehicle.

The employees ran in different directions leaving the armoured truck behind. The assailants managed to flee the scene with approximately J$22 million.

On Friday, June 17, Richards was arrested and subsequently gave a caution statement to the police. 

He was later charged after a question-and-answer interview in the presence of his attorney.
