The gang violence in Spanish Town, St Catherine continues to escalate after a woman was shot dead in an area known known as Homestesd in the old capital on Wednesday night.
Unconfirmed reports are that the woman is the mother of gang member.
Another person was also shot during the incident and remains hospitalised.
Spanish Town erupted with violence on Tuesday afternoon after two men were gunned down near the Spanish Town market, sending residents and motorists scampering for cover.
On the same day, multiple people were murdered in and around Spanish Town, and one man – identified only as ‘Crocs’ – was shot and killed by the police during a confrontation.
A curfew is currently imposed in the area.
