The police are intensifying their probe into the robbery of approximately $22 million which was being transported in a vehicle belonging to an entity on Wednesday.

The armed robbery occurred in Rollington Town, Kingston 3.

The police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reported that about 12:10 pm, employees were escorting money when their vehicle developed mechanical problems along the Jackson Road in the area.

“While fixing the vehicle, it is alleged that a motor car stopped beside them and two armed men alighted from the vehicle,” the police reported.

“The employees ran in different directions leaving the armoured truck behind,” CCU added.

The culprits managed to later flee the scene with approximately $22 million.

The theft comes days after a Western Union outlet in Oracabessa, St Mary was robbed of millions of dollars in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The robbers are still on the run at this time.
