The woman who was caught on video fast asleep at the Platinum Jubilee Pageant on Sunday, is Lady Allen, the wife of Jamaica’s Governor General Sir Patrick Allen.
She was seated behind Prince Charles at the function, where she was caught on several occasions by the camera falling asleep, leaving several viewers tweeting about the ‘sleepy woman’ seated behind the future King of the United Kingdom.
Both Sir Allen and Lady Allen were guests at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations to mark the 70 year reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
Sir Patrick Allen is the Queen’s representative in Jamaica.
UK media outlet, Ladbible, first reported of the ‘sleepy woman’ behind Prince Charles. Further checks made by Jam Street Journal confirmed that the woman is indeed the wife of Jamaica’s Governor General.
According to Ladbible, several viewers caught notice of the seemingly tired woman and went on to tweet about her.
“Anybody else notice the woman asleep behind Prince Charles?” tweeted one man, with a screenshot of the woman dressed in red and pink with her eyes closed.
Tweeted one woman: “The lady behind Prince Charles has fallen asleep. #Jubilee Pageant.”
Another questioned: “Who is this sleepy woman. How can she sleep through such a monumental event. Oh please someone who is she???”
One tweeter said the woman was “disrespectful”, but others came to her defence.
“People need to calm down and stop hating on the poor woman, she’s knackered. Let her sleep, let her live!” one person said as quoted by Ladbible.
