The St James police have charged the mother of a seven-year-old boy who was found dead at his home Bickersteth, Cambridge in St James on Tuesday, with child neglect.
Young Aiden Rose was found faced down in bushes, with a wound to the back of his head sometime about 6:45 am.
Head of the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed that the boy’s mother was brought before the St James Children’s Court and remanded into police custody late Tuesday.
The 29-year-old woman, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, is to be further questioned in relation to the child’s death.
Aiden was a grade one student at the Bickersteth Primary School in the community.
Police have not yet considered his death as a murder, as they are awaiting the results of a post mortem examination.
