A man identified as a would-be-robber was killed by a licensed firearm holder during a home invasion this morning in Nonsuch, Portland on Sunday morning, the police have confirmed.
The deceased has not yet been named.
Police reports are that about 4:45 am, the licensed firearm holder was at home sleeping with his family when he heard strange sounds in his house and went to check.
It is reported that the home owner saw a man armed with a gun pointing it in his direction.
He fired shots at the man who then ran out of the house with another man.
The injured man was later found lying on the ground with the firearm, while his accomplice escaped.
The police were summoned to the scene.
The would-be-robber was later pronounced dead.
