A popular dancer/dance educator has been charged with the murder of a young man during an altercation at party in Stewart Town, St Mary earlier this month.

Faraji Elliott, 24, of Boscobel, St Mary, was charged with the murder of 27-year-old Jermaine Barrington of Stewart Town, also in the parish.

A report from the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said on Sunday, May 8, both men were among patrons at a party where several fights broke out. 

Elliot later pointed out Barrington to an unknown man who was armed with a firearm.

The gunman subsequently shot Barrington, who later succumbed to his injuries.

Elliott wad detained and later pointed out during an identification parade.

He was later charged, the police said, adding that his court date is being finalised.
