The Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) has extended the start this year’s CSEC and CAPE exams by three weeks.

The decision was made following an emergency meeting with regional ministers and executives at CXC.

Jamaica’s Ministry of Education has been lobbying for weeks for a delay, citing issues relative to student’s lack of preparation for the exams which were scheduled to get underway on May 2.

CXC is set to host a media briefing about the administration of the 2022 regional examinations at 2pm.

The speaker panel will include Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, Chairman, Dr Wayne Wesley, Registrar and CEO, and Dr. Nicole Manning, Director of Operations, Examinations Services.
