
Valerie Neita Robertson, a distinguished Jamaican attorney-at-law, passed away on Monday after a battle with cancer.
She was 71 years old at the time of her passing.
Her death has sent shockwaves throughout the Jamaican legal community, where she was highly respected for her expertise and advocacy.
“She was one of the best Jamaican defence attorneys. She’ll be surely missed I tell you,” shared an attorney who wished not to be identified .
Neita Robertson was a seasoned lawyer who had represented numerous high-profile clients throughout her illustrious career.
Throughout her career, Neita Robertson demonstrated a strong commitment to justice and fairness.
The attorney also represented the People’s National Party (PNP) in the 2020 General Election, losing to the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) Daryl Vaz.
“It is with great sadness that the Neita-Robertson family announces the untimely passing of Miss Valerie Neita-Robertson KC, attorney-at-law. Miss Neita-Robertson leaves behind four sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and other family members,” Neita Robertson’s family stated on Monday.
Tributes have also been made by former PNP President, Dr Peter Phillips, and attorney Adley Duncan, a crown council in Bermuda.
