Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced the upcoming appointment of three new senators to represent the Government in the Upper House of Parliament.

The incoming senators, Dr Elon Thompson, Marlon Morgan, and Delano Seiveright, will fill the vacancies left by Mathew Samuda, Delroy Williams, and Ransford Braham, who recently resigned from the Senate.

Thompson brings a wealth of experience as a urologist and former President of the Medical Association of Jamaica.

Marlon Morgan, a senior member of the JLP’s communication team, and Delano Seiveright, a senior strategist in the Ministry of Tourism, both had ties to Generation 2000, the young professional arm of the JLP.

According to Prime Minister Holness, these nominations reflect his administration’s commitment to strong leadership and governance.

“The Senate plays a critical role in our democracy, ensuring the thorough review and passage of legislation that impacts the lives of all Jamaicans,” Holness said.

“I have strategically selected these professionals because of the immense expertise they bring to Jamaica. I have every confidence they will uphold the highest standards of public service, contribute meaningfully to the legislative process and, ultimately, accelerate Jamaica’s development,” the prime minister stated.
