The St Catherine North Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) has arrested and charged dancehall artiste Kiprich over as song that allegedly endorsed gang violence.

The 45-year-old artiste, whose real name is

Marlon Plunkett of a Kingston 5 address, was charged on Monday.

He is charged with use of audio and audiovisual communication to promote criminal activity.

The JCF said this stems from a song that he had recorded and played across media platforms endorsing gang violence and paying tribute to members of the One Order Gang.

He was subsequently charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

Kiprich was subsequently released on station bail. He is scheduled to appear in the St Catherine Parish Court later this month.
