An operation led by the St Mary police on Friday resulted in the arrest of six individuals for various offences, including drug possession, larceny, and uncustomed goods.
The identities of those arrested have not been published.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said the operation was conducted in Bailey’s Vale, Galina, Cromwelland, and Tryall in the parish between the hours of 5am and 10:30 am on Friday.
Items seized were dangerous drugs, lottery scamming paraphernalia and uncustomed goods, according to a police statement.
“This operation highlights our ongoing commitment to tackling criminal elements and addressing safety concerns within the parish. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and to partner with the police in maintaining safer communities,” said the JCF.
The constabulary commended the joint efforts of its specialised units, the military and communities for their role in ensuring the success of the operation.
