A devastating series of gun attacks in the Cherry Tree Lane community of Four Paths, Clarendon, has left eight people dead and nine others injured. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night, with the victims including a seven-year-old boy.
According to reports, the first attack took place around 8:45 pm at a car wash, where residents had gathered for a birthday celebration.
A white Axio motor car pulled up, and three armed men emerged, opening fire on the crowd. Four people died on the spot, while three others were pronounced dead at the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as:
– Kavel Daley, 27, cosmetologist
– Lawrence Francis, 50, construction worker
– Diamond Bennett, 20, cashier
– Aiden Bartley, 7, student of Four Paths Primary
– Errol Stewart (aka Wagga), 58, butcher
– Jermaine Boothe, 32, (aka Blacks)
– Courtney Messam (aka Dummbie)
– Margaret (full identity pending)
In a second attack, the same armed men stopped at another gathering in the community and opened fire, killing one person.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey has condemned the incident, stating that it “borders on terrorism” and was likely intended to instill fear and intimidate the community.
Among the injured are a one-year and nine-month-old toddler and eight others, who are receiving medical attention.
The police are currently investigating the motive behind the attacks and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
