The police have captured the person of interest in the death of social media influencer, Aneka ‘Slickianna’ Townsend, last month.
Rushane Patterson, otherwise called ‘Chizzie’ was arrested by the police at a guest house in Hanover shortly after 1:00 am on Wednesday, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) stated on social media.
The police say investigations are ongoing.
Patterson had indicated through an attorney that he would have turned himself over to the authorities on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Fitz Bailey revealed yesterday.
Police sources reported that said that based on preliminary investigations, Townsend was last seen alive with Rushane Patterson at a well-known restaurant in Hanover.
Reports are that at about 9:30 a.m, on Friday, October 21, persons went to the beach and discovered the partially decomposing body floating in the water.
The body was subsequently fished from the water by members of the Marine police.
Townsend’s body was identified by her mother the following day.
Patterson was asked to turn himself into the police by 5:00 pm that day, but he failed to do so.
Claims that the Hanover resident had fled the country were also denied by the police, because there was no evidence to support those suggestions.
