Natalie Neita-Garvey, the People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament for St Catherine North Central, has captured media attention after she refused to pose in a photograph with a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Councillor.
The ribbon cutting formalities on Wednesday were related to a new house being handed over for a man who lost his house due to a fire.
Neita-Garvey told prominent journalist Simon Crosskill on Thursday, that she was refused to take the photograph with JLP Councillor Peter Abrahams, as he did nothing to assist the man and his young son who lost their home.
In fact, the parliamentarian alleged that Abrahams lived only minute away from the persons and offered no help.
On that basis, Neita-Garvey said she felt compelled to opt out of taking the photograph with Abrahams. She reiterated that her comments were not directed at Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
“A not taking nuh picture wid yuh enuh,” the MP tells Abrahams in the video which has gone viral on social media.
