The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is continuing its probe into the fatal shooting of Jamaica’s most wanted fugitive, Rudolph ‘Boxer’ Shaw on the weekend.
Shaw was killed during a confrontation with officers from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s CTOC and Metro Quick Response Team from PSTEB at a Guest House on Sandringham Avenue in Kingston on Saturday.
Two guns have been recovered, the JCF reported.
Since his escape from police lockup last Thursday, “Shaw has been the subject of intense surveillance and tracking”, the police force stated.
Investigators identified that Shaw was holding up at a guest house at Sandringham area in Kingston.
“When the police swooped down on the location, they were greeted by gunfire. In the end, Shaw and another man were shot and injured. They were taken to a medical facility where they were pronounced dead,” a statement from the Constabulary said.
One .45 pistol and a 9mm pistol were seized.
Meanwhile, a woman, who was in the company of Shaw and his crony, was arrested and is in police custody.
At the time of his escape from the Kingston Central lockup last Thursday, Boxer was accused of murdering 59-year-old Wilfred O’Connor and Clinton Davis, 60, both of St John’s Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
It is alleged that Shaw shot and killed O’Connor on September 29, 2021. Davis reportedly witnessed the incident and was allegedly fatally shot by Shaw along St John’s Road in May 2022.
Shaw was captured in the Cayman Islands and deported to Jamaica in July, to face prosecution. He had been in custody up to the time of his escape last week.
