A night of drama unfolded in St Catherine after a domestic dispute turned sour, resulting a man allegedly shooting himself and his toddler in Brown’s Hall.

The man succumbed to his injuries and his child is in hospital.

Preliminary reports reaching Jam Street Journal is that the father had taken the baby following a domestic dispute with the baby’s mother on Wednesday night.

The mother subsequently filed a report with the police, who later responded.

On arrival at a house where the man was seen with the child, the said man opened gunfire at the officers. He then fled into bushes with the child and continued firing wildly at the lawmen.

When the gunshots ceased in the early Thursday morning, officers went into the bushes and found the man’s lifeless body with multiple gunshot wounds.

The baby was found covered in blood and was reportedly shot.

The St Catherine North Police are probing the incident.
