Twenty-two-year-old labourer Lamar Hunter, otherwise called ‘Tubby’ of Epsom in Annotto Bay, St Mary, was shot and killed by unknown assailants in Enfield in the parish on Saturday.
Reports from the Annotto Bay police are that about 12:16 am, residents heard explosions and summoned them.
On their arrival, Hunter was reportedly seen lying face down along the roadway with gunshot wounds all over his body.
He was assisted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Up to April 20, 2024, the official Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) crime statistics showed that St Mary recorded five murders so far.
That figure represents a 54.5 per cent decrease when compared to the 11 murders recorded for the corresponding period last year.
